When we at iZotope first conceived of Nectar, we imagined an Ozone for vocals—a plug-in with everything needed for producing great vocal tracks. That included 11 processing modules like dynamics processors, a harmonic exciter, corrective features like a de-esser, pitch correction, and a unique breath control feature to attenuate or remove breaths from recordings. Nectar was a major success for us, and went on to win the 2011 MIPA award—voted on by over 100 industry magazines.
Now, three years later, we’re excited to have released Nectar 2, which adds AAX support and gives users wealth of new creative and corrective tools for tracking and mixing inspiring vocals. The resources that the 64-bit AAX format provides allowed us to not only perform cutting edge in-the-box processing, but to optimize that processing in a way that benefits Pro Tools users.
